Gorham (American, founded 1831). A repousse decorated sterling silver hinged soap dish with roes and daisy flowers in relief amid swirling scrolls and foliates, bordered to either side of case by stylized egg and dart band, latching at top and having open interior. Marked to interior rim with maker's mark used during the last quarter of 19th century, also "STERLING" and indistinguishable date code. Approximately 3.875" x 2.75" x 1.5". Approximate weight 3.9 troy ounces.
