Beatrix Potter (English, 1866-1943). "The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck", first edition, first, second, or third printing, published by Frederick Warne & Co. circa 1908. Considered one of Potter's best books by critics, a sextodecimo first edition volume comprising color frontispiece, plain title vignette, 26 color plates, color pictorial endpapers, and original green boards with inset color illustration. Lacking dust jacket - the dust jacket is the differentiating factor between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd printings, without which printing session cannot be determined. Approximately 5.625" x 4.375".
