Ludwig Moser & Sohne (Karlovy Vary /Carlsbad, 1893-1922), circa 1902. A fine set of fifteen crystal finger bowls with fourteen matching underplates, clear, cut and intaglio decorated in the "Bearded Iris" pattern, the fingerbowls with gilt border decorated with chevron and dot pattern over the optically ribbed bowl symmetrically engraved with a bearded iris to one side, the other with the etched monogram "HED" for Horace Elgin Dodge, tapering to the faceted foot with twelve cut panels. The matching underplates also monogrammed "HED" for Horace Elgin Dodge with slightly raised sides having the bearded iris to the center "foot" surrounded by eighteen cut panels. Twenty-nine pieces total. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height of bowl 2.5", diameter 4.75". Diameter of underplates 6.4". Provenance: Purchased by the current owner directly from the Rose Terrace House Sale, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan; The Property of the late MRS. ANNA THOMSON DODGE; CHRISTIE’S, September 27, 28 and 29, 1971. Owner was present for the sale and the above lot was offered as an addendum by the family and not included in the auction catalog.
