Meriden & Company (American (Connecticut), founded 1808). A quadruple plate silverplated humidor of rectangular form having two figural hunting dogs to lid as handles, with two large hinged compartments flanking two central smaller boxes, the whole raised on four ball feet and having embossed floral and bird motif frieze around body. Underside with impressed maker's mark and standard mark. Approximate height 7.75", width 11.625", depth 8.375".
