$1,300
French, late 18th/mid to late 19th century. Two Louis XIII style barley twist armchairs, each with a crested and upholstered back, scrolled arms with barley twist supports, with a squared and upholstered seat, each with carved barley twist legs and an H-stretcher, with a front barley twist rung. Each in hand stitched crewelwork upholstery, one with a geometric pattern, the other with a foliated pattern and green velvet. Approximate height (of green velvet): 45.6", width 24.5", seat depth 18.25", seat to floor 21". Note: Both chairs were purchased together in France, and appear to be a pair, though one chair is older than the other, which was possibly made later to match.
