Chinese, 19th century, possibly earlier. A large Chinese blue and white vase, in Yuan style, with octagonal globular body with short neck decorated with meander scroll and flat octagonal rim, the shoulder with ruyi border and each panel decorated with a sinuous, scaly, five-clawed dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl, amidst scrolling flower blossoms above stylized ruyi-form lappets. The unglazed base apparently not marked. Approximate height 13.5", diameter of mouth 6.3".
