English, early 19th century. A Regency period tortoiseshell tea caddy, having a domed top inlaid with silver piping and a central square cartouche (blank), with a silver crest key escutcheon, resting on four brass ball feet. The hinged lid is lined in dark blue velvet, and opens to reveal two lidded compartments, each with a bone pull and remnants of the leaded lining. Unmarked. Approximate height 5", width 7", depth 4.125".
