English, early 19th century. A Regency period dome top tortoiseshell tea caddy, having a shaped serpentine form, with a hinged lid with silver piping and a central silver cartouche (blank), a central locking key escutcheon, a skirted base, and four boxwood ball feet. The hinged lid is lined in red velvet, opening to reveal two lidded compartments with mother of pearl pulls and remnants of the leaded lining. Unmarked. Approximate height 4.425", width 7.75", depth 4.8".
