Alphonse La Paglia (Italian, 1907-1953) for International Silver Company (American, founded 1898). A Danish inspired round sterling silver salver or tray having pierced rim with repeating pattern of lily flowers punctuated by three clusters of sculptural silver beads. Underside of rim marked "International Sterling / La Paglia Designed / 170 31 /5". Approximate diameter 13.25". Approximate weight 33.6 troy ounces. Note: La Paglia died in 1953 and International Silver Co. continued production of his designs until at least 1957 under the heading of International Sterling Craft Associates.
