English, mid 20th century. A Georgian style mahogany secretary, having an overhanging dentil molded and inlaid cornice over two fretwork mullioned glass cabinet doors with banded inlay, opening to reveal interior storage, resting on a slant front desk, the fall inlaid with a foliated urn, opening to reveal eight document compartments, a central locking compartment with a marquetry veneered urn, flanked by two secret compartments with two outer drawers, all with marquetry veneer inlay, with two short drawers and loper supports, over three long drawers, all with banded inlay, molded edges, a central locking escutcheon, and brass pulls, with a shaped skirt and bracket feet. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 88", width 42.5", depth 21.25".
