French, probably Loire Valley, second half 18th century. A large late Louis XV walnut armoire having a bonnet top over a paneled frieze and a pair of double fielded panel doors with decorative brass escutcheons and long brass fiche hinges, flanked by rounded, paneled stiles and fielded panel sides, on front squat cabriole legs with scrolled toes, joined by a scroll carved skirt centered with a scallop shell. Approximate height 90.25", width 55.5", depth 24".
