French, late 18th/early 19th century. A Provincial Directoire style fruitwood fauteuil chair, having a curved seat back, the front upholstered in Scalamandre bears fabric and the back in large blue and white check, with low, fauteuil arms over a carved crest rail, with curved legs and cuffed feet. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 43.435", width 27.25", seat depth 21.25", seat to floor 17.5".
