American, mid 19th century. A carved Chippendale style mahogany bed, with four tapering posters, each spiral carved with a turned ball finial, with a shaped headboard, a low footboard, and squared stiles fitted with pegs for original roping. Apparently unmarked. Bed complete with luxurious designer Fortuny linens in gold and white throughout bed including shams, skirt, canopy, and cover. Approximate height 89", width 58", depth 81.6".
