Chamberlain (English (Worcester), founded 1783-), circa early 19th century. Three fine porcelain serving pieces in the "Dragon in Compartments" pattern comprising a demilune vegetable dish, a small oval lidded sauce tureen, and a small round lidded sauce tureen. Each piece finely hand painted with an Orientalist motif in tones of red, green, blue, and pink to a white ground with traditional Chinese motif of fu dogs, dragons, peony blossoms, diaper patterning, and floral scrolls. Underside of vegetable lid inscribed "Chamberlain's / Worcester / 75", the others apparently unmarked. Vegetable approximate height 4.25", width 13.5", depth 7.75". Oval tureen approximate height 5.25", width over handles 7.25", depth 4.25". Round tureen approximate height 5", width across handles 7.5". Note: Chamberlain merged with Flight, Barr & Barr in 1840. A similar pattern to this is often attributed as Bengal Tiger.
