American, late 19th century. A pair of carved oak arm chairs, each with a scalloped crest rail, with two rounded ring turned seat rails, with a banded, horizontal birdcage back with tapering ring turned stiles, with shaped armrests, over a white muslin upholstered seat, on four rounded tapering legs with banding, with a double box stretcher. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 38.5", width 22", seat depth 19", seat to floor 20".
