St. John (American, founded 1969), circa 1970s. A ladies vintage black knit ensemble comprising a sweater and skirt, the sweater with curved panel front bordered and fastened by gold tone buttons and with crew neckline; and a midi length elastic waist skirt with fashionable pleated detailing to one knee - the jacket and skirt each bearing one part of a hook-and-eye closure used to secure the outfit together when wearing. Jacket with white label at neckline "St. John by Marie Gray". Skirt without maker label but with size label indicating US size 12. Jacket width across shoulders approximately 15", length back of collar to hem approximately 22.5". Skirt waist laid flat approximately 14.5", length approximately 27".
