of rectangular form, decorated in takamaki-e and hiramaki-e with coral inlays depicting various immortals climbing on rockery amidst waves, the top, bottom and interior with nashiji ground, together with a carved wood netsuke in the form of a seated immortal holding a coral branch. Height 3 1/2 inches. Property of a Private Midwest Collector Overall in good condition with no visible cracks or restoration. Having one small chip to the ridge.
