early 20th century the baluster body depicting the Tang Dynasty general Guo Ziyi dressed in layered robes holding a hu plaque in his right hand with two attendants, the reverse with four vertical lines of inscriptions in black ink and three red seals, the underside bearing a four-character Qianlong mark within a square panel in blue enamel, raised on a silk brocade stand. Height 8 3/8 inches. Property from the Collection of a Gentleman Provenance: Acquired at C. B. Charles Galleries, Inc in the 1980's Overall good condition with no apparent chips, hairlines or restoration. Minor pitting the the glaze, rubbing of gilt to the mouth, dust inside.
