19th century the recumbent figure with its head raised and turned left, having detailed mouth, nostrils, bulgy eyes and ears, surmounted by a pair of black glazed ribbed horns, all four black hooves tucked under and the body with a pronounced spine, the underside unglazed revealing the grey clay, raised on a fitted hardwood stand with foliate decoration. Height 6 3/4 inches. Overall good condition with no visible chips or restoration. Pitting and crazing to the glaze. The underside with a hairline possibly occurred during the firing process. The stand in good condition with no losses or damages, having surface scratches consistent with use, a few age splits.
