ming dynasty, second half of 16th century the interior decorated in applied white slips showing a central medallion enclosing a fu lion in a landscape surrounded by two striding dragons chasing the flaming pearl of wisdom amongst clouds within chrysanthemum and foliate sprays border. Diameter 16 inches. Provenance: The Falk Collection II: Chinese and Japanese Works of Art, Christie's New York, October 15, 2001, sale 9824, lot 485 Falk Collection, no. 274 Overall decent condition with no visible chips, hairlines or restoration. Light wear and rubbing of the glaze throughout. Surface scratches and a few firing flaws to the interior.
