A group of four autograph books, signed photographs, and note cards. The items come from two collectors and were signed or secretarially signed, circa 1955. Three autograph books containing approximately 280 signatures that appear to have been obtained in person, including those of Orson Welles, Gary Cooper, Marlene Dietrich, Tito Puente, Mickey Rooney, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Jose Ferrer, Bert Lahr, Ray Bolger, Roddy McDowall, Luise Rainer, Louis Prima, Gene Autry, Jane Russell, Milton Berle, Carmen Miranda, Leslie Caron, Boris Karloff, Joan Fontaine, Joan Bennett, Dean Martin, Rod Steiger, Grace Kelly, and others. A fourth autograph book contains cards that appear to have been sent to celebrities and returned signed, accompanied by several loose cards contained in an envelope with the return address of Lana Turner at MGM Studios. The archive also contains eight publicity photographs signed or secretarially signed by Esther Williams, Jan Clayton, June Allyson (three), Ella Raines, and Charles Korvin (two). With 11 candid photographs that have been signed or have the subject of the photograph’s name written on them.
