Rare Cherry Drop-leaf Table, possibly western Massachusetts or upstate New York, late 17th century, the circular drop-leaf top supported by sliding supports on beaded apron, joining splayed block-, vase-, and ring-turned legs ending in turned feet with conforming turned stretchers, old surface with red-painted base, (minor imperfections), ht. 25 1/2, dia. 42 1/2 in. Provenance: Rev. W. Brooks Rice, Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts; W. Brooks Rice Jr., Francestown, New Hampshire; by descent to the present owners.
