Needlework Sampler "Susanah Fox," Newport, Rhode Island, c. 1749, worked in silk threads on a linen background composed of nine lines of alphabet and numbers over "Susanah Fox Her Sampler Made/In The 12 Year of Her Age 1749" and additional lines of verse, lines divided by flowers, and foliate devices, strawberry border at bottom edge, in a molded black frame, (fading), ht. 14, wd. 7 in.
