early 20th century the headboard having a stepped cornice with a ribbon tied crest, flanked by two finials above a frieze mounted with paterae and satyrs playing horns amidst floral scroll decoration, the footboard mounted with a ribbon tied bow supporting a basket overflowing with flowers and flanked by fluted columns, both raised on toupie feet. Height of headboard 60 3/4 inches. In overall good, stable, usable condition. Mounts all appear present with even patina. Finish to frame likewise even with light to moderate surface wear (nicks, scratches, rubbing) consistent with age and use. Mattress opening measures 77 x 58, a little smaller than a queen.
