At a young age he moved from New York to Puerto Rico with his fisherman cousin who told Lebron about the perils of the sea. Inspired by these tales, Lebron and his cousin would illustrate these stories on old paper bags. He returned to New York a few years later and at age 14 was admitted to New York City's High School of Music and Arts. Robert Lebron developed his own personal technique during an extensive stay in Spain. Rendering buildings and cityscapes with a palette knife is one quality that distinguishes his work. Lebron painted professionally for almost forty years and is recognized as an important American impressionist. He has had numerous successful shows and exhibitions and the number of collectors of his work is growing steadily. His paintings can be found in prestigious collections in the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, Great Britain, and Japan. Robert Lebron passed away August 31, 2013.
