Russian nesting dolls, made famous in the late 19th century, are still one of the most classic of all Russian art pieces, though they were meant to be toys; this nesting doll set is comprised of twelve dolls with the outermost doll marked to bottom "Made in USSR" and measuring approximately 7-7/8" tall and 3-5/16" in diameter to the base; in good condition, consistent with age and use.
