Japanese, likely Meiji Period (1868-1912). A Kutani porcelain dessert service in 33 pieces comprising a coffee pot, creamer, lidded sugar, 10 teacups, 9 saucers, and 11 dessert plates, each with finely painted birds, butterflies, wisteria, and peony blossom decoration in purples, oranges, and greens on white ground, with bamboo form handles. Each piece with hand painted calligraphic mark in red to underside. Tea pot approximate height 7.75". Provenance: From the private collection of Al & Barbara Holloway, Thomaston, Georgia.
