Bradley and Hubbard Manufacturing Company (American (Connecticut), 1852-1940), circa late 19th century. A fine adjustable piano or organ floor oil lamp having a central removable brass oil reservoir resting in a hexagonal shaped holder painted to the exterior, each panel depicting lotus rising from the water in reddish-orange, underglaze blue and gold against white ground mounted to the telescoping adjustable turned shaft rising from a turned base with hexagonal shaped panels in painted mirrored decoration on a turned stepped socle issuing three stylized projecting feet. The central draft burner is stamped with the patent dates: Aug. 30, 1892, Apr. 23, 1895, & Dec. 31, 1895. and the wick raiser knob stamped "Pat. Applied For." The flame spreader stamped 'Rayo PAT'D. FEB. 28.05 22'. Approximate height 53.75" (base to top of oil spreader), with the ability to adjust an additional 18" in height. Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S.
