Continental, late 19th / early 20th century. A grand parcel gilt and gesso turned wood architectural finial having flared convex top, narrow cylindrical neck, bulbous body with high relief upswept acanthus leaves, body with single flat side, foot of circular convex form, apparently unmarked. Approximate height 21.5", diameter of base 9.5".
