Japanese, likely Meiji Period (1868-1912), possibly later. A pair of cast and inlaid composite metal beaker vases of cylindrical form with flaring foot and mouth, each with band at center bearing high relief overlapping butterflies bordered by raised rings, above the central band each vase decorated with raised cranes in flight, and below the central band with flat relief waves and sea spray. Each with impressed seal mark to underside. Approximate height 7.375", diameter 3.625".
