Japanese, Meiji Period (1868-1912), 19th century. A very fine pure silver and mixed metal inlaid dresser box of rectangular form raised on squat ogee bracket feet, with thin rolled rims to box top and lid base, and a raised cartouche to the lid decorated within with a relief crane in flight over water with bank at right bearing bamboo and flowering plants, the lid accented with copper and gold, the lift off lid revealing rosewood lined base and lid. Signed to bottom right of lid, marked to underside of foot with Jungin (standard mark for pure silver) above a second unknown mark. Approximate height 2", width 5.5", depth 4.125".
