Chinese, 20th century. A famille rose enamel decorated porcelain jardiniere of round form raised on ring foot and bearing a flaring mouth, covered allover in white glaze and decorated to body with four rose pink round cartouches filled with hand painted birds, chrysanthemum blossoms, and leafy stems, surrounding the cartouches with many colored bats, peony flowers, shou and swastika symbols of auspiciousness, the interior rim with four clusters of chrysanthemum blossoms and sweet pea vines. Drilled to underside for drainage. Unmarked. Approximate height 12.75", diameter 14.75".
