Japanese, likely Meiji Period (1868-1912). A pair of cloisonne enamel on porcelain vases, a method known as Jitai Shippo, the vases of pear form with wide mouth and bearing allover mustard ground decorated with cobalt blue leaves, green scrolling vines, and blue and pink chrysanthemum flowers, the foot and mouth with bands of foliate decoration. Underside of each with red calligraphic signatures or marks. One slightly taller than the other, heights approximately 12" and 11.875". Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S.
