Aoki Kyodai-Shokai (Aoki Brothers Company) - Japanese, founded 1890s, likely late Meiji Period. An Arita ware porcelain center bowl hand painted in the Imari palette, the interior tondo with a gilt auspicious symbol bordered by a ring of gilt bamboo leaf clusters, the interior cavetto with a continuous scene depicting courtly and religious figures set within a blue rocky landscape scene and amid architectural elements with green covered mountains in the distance, the bowl's exterior walls with further complimenting figural landscape scenes. The bowl's underside with inset welled ring with three floral garlands surrounding a central separate well with single cobalt ring, this central well with underglaze blue mark for Dai Nippon Hizen Arita Aoki-sei (the Arita based company founded by Aoki Jinichiro (Japanese, 1863-1955)). Bowl to a wooden stand with reticulated apron. Approximate height of bowl 4.125", diameter 12.25". Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S. Jun, M.D., Eastman, Georgia.
