Italian School, 20th century. A pair of framed pietra dura plaques, one of a gentleman, dressed in Renaissance style apparel, with a red shirt and pants, a green and yellow doublet, and a feathered hat and a sword, standing on a rockery and holding a bottle of wine, and one of a lady, dressed in bar maid attire, with a white shift, a red and yellow corset, and purple skirt, and a ivory apron, standing on a rockery, and holding a pitcher in one hand and a glass of wine in the other, each framed in an ornate gilt gesso Rococo style pierced and scalloped rocaille frame, with a mirrored mat. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 14.5", width 12.5", depth 2". Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S. Jun, M.D., Eastman, Georgia.
