Chinese, Ming Dynasty Xuande Period mark (1426-1435), likely 20th century. A Ming Dynasty style porcelain water sprinkler in the Persian or Islamic form comprising spreading ring foot issuing bulbous section under constricted knee surmounted by pear shaped body with incurvate neck under flaring rounded rim, with straight stem extending upward to one side of shoulder, the whole decorated in hand painted blue underglaze to white ground with bands of geometric patterning embattling a field of meandering vines with lotus blossoms. Four character underglaze blue normal script mark to neck for the Xuande imperial reign. Approximate height 8.25".
