Continental, 20th century. A Louis XV-style bureau plat or writing desk, with a serpentine stained and simulated marquetry inlaid top depicting a foliated border surrounding a central roundel with birds and a nest, atop a conforming apron with a sliding drawer, resting on cabriole legs mounted with gilt metal acanthus ormolu and terminating in toe caps. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 30", width 53.5", depth 32".
