French, early 20th century. A rococo or Louis XV style carved giltwood camelback settee, having a pierced seat back with a lower central cartouche, flanked by two rococo-bean shaped cartouches, each with a painted cherubic scene, decorated with acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, and rocaille, with carved armrests with scrolled rocaille handholds, a carved apron, resting on cabriole legs with rocaille knees. Upholstered in red stripe silk with pineapple motif. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 37.75", width 44.5", seat depth 20", seat to floor 19".
