French, late 19th century. Superb Empire style gilt bronze and cobalt porcelain figural double inkwell encrier, each inkwell with rosette decorated hinged lid over a cobalt porcelain body and mounted with circular handles modeled as portraits of Joan of Arc and resting in between the wings of recumbent griffins, each with outstretched talons, the scrolling base inset with cobalt porcelain plaque to each side. Apparently not marked. Approximate height 4.25", width 10.25", depth 7.25".
