Italian, late 19th/early 20th century. A charming and petite Vernis Martin style two-piece giltwood bowfront vitrine cabinet, the upper case having a frieze with three molded cartouches decorated with putti emblematic of poetry, music, peace and love above a central glazed door and two glazed side panels, the lower conforming case having two glazed doors, each with panels painted in the style of Francois Boucher (French, 1703-1770), one depicting wing putti in air on clouds with arrow pierced heart, one putti holding aloft laurel wreaths, the other panel with winged cupid on clouds with drapery and doves as another putti reaches for floral bouquets of roses. Both sections have a mirrored back interior and all three doors have individual locking mechanisms; the whole raised on three squat cabriole legs terminating in scrolled toes. Two demilune form glass shelves accompany vitrine. Approximate height 69.5", width 26", depth 13".
