Chinese, first half 20th century. A hand painted porcelain plaque with allover ju-pi (orange peel) texture depicting a religious elder seated at center flanked by two young students, one holding a rod with precious objects suspended and one holding a bowl or carafe, the figures accompanied at left by a male deer with full antlers, and collected beneath a pine tree with iron red bat in flight overhead. Porcelain contained within wood frame. At left with many lines of black calligraphy and two red seal marks. Framed approximately 16.625" x 11.625".
