Chinese, 20th century. A pair of large, heavy, and finely modeled pottery sang de boeuf (lang yao red) glazed Qilin figures, each depicting a single mythical beast striding forward an cloven hoofs with head turned upward, one with jaw ajar, and tail wrapped around to one side of scaly body, each resting on an organically shaped plinth base glazed in mottle red, blue, and white. One with two impressed seal marks to underside. Taller approximate height 16.75", width 7.75", depth 13.25". Shorter approximate height 15", width 7", depth 13.25".
