Sevres (French, founded 1738-), circa 1846. A Sevres Chateau des Tuileries hand painted porcelain box, having a serpentine form, with a cobalt blue ground, the hinged lid with a central courtly scene of lovers flirting to the top, the front and back sides with pastoral landscapes, the sides with gilt flower baskets, each ringed in gilt work decorations, opening to reveal floral bouquets, resting on four saber feet. Bottom with factory mark, Royal letters for Louis-Philippe, and iron red Chateau des Tuileries. Approximate height 3.825", width 6", depth 3.825".
