Jones, Low & Ball (American (Boston, Mass), circa 1839-1846. A lovely pure coin silver water pitcher having a scrolled handle and wide mouth over a collar decorated with a band of leaf tips above the bulbous body decorated in floral repousse and centered with floral cartouche enclosing a monogrammed inscription reading "EHB from ACL". The whole raised on a stepped socle foot. Hallmarked to the underside "PURE SILVER COIN/BOSTON/JONES, LOW & BALL/BOSTON". Approximate height 10.25" (handle), width 8.75" (spout to handle), diameter of foot 4.75". Approximate weight 26.9 troy ounces. Note: Jones, Low & Ball was a predecessor to Boston's venerable Shreve, Crump & Low, and was active only during the short period of 1839-1846.
