Indian School, 19th century. A hand painted work on paper depicting two courtly adults seated in dhyanasana before an open form altar bearing a diminutive sized blue-skinned buddha, possibly Akshobhya or Bhaisajyaguru (the Medicine Buddha), the couple seated to a green field punctuated with clusters of pink roses and small offerings, the scene set under a lapis lazuli colored sky within an arched cartouche. Inscribed to verso of structure "Purchased in Udaipen, India / February 2006 / Timothy Tew". Framed approximately 20.25" x 18.25". Sheet size approximately 9.25" x 8.5".
