A figural miniature Mughal painting depicting Akbar the Great (Mughal, 1542-1605) dressed in elegant and exceptionally detailed jama (or long coat), with a sword at his hip, with a falcon perched on his outstretched left hand, surrounded by intricately rendered flora and fauna, the scene with elaborate and highly ornamental framing, including gilt depictions of wildlife and foliage. With inscription to frame verso "#401 Timothy Tew Gallery AR16". Unframed approximately 11.75" x 7.725". Framed approximately 22" x 18".
