Persian/ Middle Eastern, late 19th/ early 20th century. A heavy and fine mixed metal Passover seder plate of round form with a wide flat rim, the rim bearing six Arabic words within shaped cartouches flanked by stylized birds and alternating with six mandalas, the plate tondo bearing an elaborate figural scene told in the Muslim Quran, the Jewish Torah, and the Christian Holy Bible Old Testament with the prophet Moses at top descending from Mt. Sinai flanked by two angels and holding the two tablets known to bear the 10 Commandments, Moses approaching at bottom Aaron proselytizing to a hoard of people surrounding a golden calf with a fire below and a menorah at left under a canopy bearing Hebrew inscription, the bronze or brass plate accented with inlaid and overlaid copper, silver gilt, and yellow gilt. Underside with applied fabric inscribed "This our Master Moses who descend the Ten Commandments from Heaven / This is a picture of a Prophet / Israel (popl?? what they did / the golden cow to worship / Shamael Naasan and Company".
