Married Charles William Stokes Esq. Painted by Fritz Meyer 1848 Married July 25th 1844 Died April 5th 1881", with label to board's verso "Charles Roberson & Compy. Manufacturers of Water and Oil colours, Materials for Drawing, Painting, & c.51 Long Acre, London."; and "Charles William Stokes", oil on board, apparently unsigned, a formal bust-length portrait painting depicting a man dressed in formal coat with high collar and black tie, with large, glassy blue eyes and plump cheeks, with indistinct inscription to frame verso "Painted by Fritz Meyer 1846 Married Catherine Elizabeth daughter of Robert July 25th 1844".
