French, late 19th century. Louis XVI-style fruitwood porter chair, with a crested dome top and fauteuil arms, standing atop turned fluted legs, with overall Neoclassical-motif carving, including acanthus leaves and fasces to the arms and crest rail, square rosette medallions at the top of the arms and legs, and egg and dart molding to the front, back and side rails. With tacked brown velvet upholstery. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 55", width 27", seat depth 21", and seat to floor 18".
