American, 19th century. A Louis XVI style polychrome and gilt headboard, with a rounded pediment top, accented with dentil molding and decorated with scrolled gilt acanthus leaves and a laurel wreath, with two urn finials flanking a central gilt floral finial, supported by two applied fluted columns with gilt Corinthian capitals, flanking a central frieze panel with applied ribboned and swags and rosettes, with serpentine spandrels to either side mounted with urns, and tapering fluted posts topped with ball finials. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 89.25", width 80", depth 3.25".
